FINALS OF DASH EVENTS FEATURE OF TRACK MEET

ICE ON END OF TRACK SHORTENS 220 RUNNING DISTANCE

Yesterday afternoon, the second day of the Fall Handicap Track Meet, the finals of the 100-yard and 200-yard dashes, the 120-yard low hurdles, three quarter mile run, high jump, and pole vault were completed.

Owing to the fact that ice had formed on one end of the track, it was found necessary to shorten the 220-yard dash to 155 yards.

Afternoon Schedule Announced

The schedule for this afternoon, which has been changed, was announced yesterday as follows:

3 o'clock, javelin throw; 3.15 o'clock, 70-yard high hurdles; 3.30 o'clock, 440-yard dash and discus throw; 3.45 o'clock, 880-yard dash.

The summary of yesterday's handicap events follows: 100-yard dash: First, j. B. Hawes '32 (3 yards); second, K. L. Johnson '32 (5 yards); third, A. L. Watkins '31 (scratch). Time--10 seconds flat.

220-yard dash (155 yards only): First, F. E. Cummings '30 (scratch); second, G. G. Kirstein '32 (scratch); third, F. T. Brown '32 (scratch). Time--15 2-5 seconds.

120-yard low hurdles: First, R. L. Summers '31 (2-5 seconds); second, R. B. Corey '29 (scratch); third, F. J. Mardulier '30 (1-5 seconds). Time--14 3-5 seconds.

Three quarter mile run: First, John Farley '32 (200-yard); J. O. Wildes '29 (scratch); F. P. Beveridge '30 (100 yards). Time--3 minutes, 8 2-5 seconds.

High jump: First, F. T. Burgess '30; second, N. P. Beveridge '32; third, h. B. Wands '30. Height--5 feet, 8 inches.

Pole vault: First, Osborne Sutermeister '32 (8 inches); second, W. H. Cleaver '29 (scratch); third, C. E. Dunlap '30 (scratch). Height--12 feet, 2 inches.
