A proposal for canvassing the University for money to carry on relief and welfare work in Cambridge is at present under consideration, it was revealed yesterday by Mayor R.M. Russell '14 and officials of the Cambridge Unemployment Committee. Unemployment Committee. Plans for collecting funds were discussed at a meeting Monday night, and the committee will probably decide within a few days whether it is practicable to attempt to reach the students.
The members of the faculty are being canvassed as part of a drive which includes the entire city. F. L. Kennedy '92, associate professor of Engineering Drawing, emeritus, is chairman of the executive committee of the Unemployment Committee. Other Harvard professors on the committee are E. H. Hall, Rumford Professor of Physics, emeritus, chairman of the Works Projects Committee, and C. P. Biddle, professor of Investment Banking.
