Pedestrians Undaunted Amid Traffic in Harvard Square

Only One Fatality in Five Years, Many Slight Accidents

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

That Harvard Square is one of the most terrifying spots ever conceived for the humiliation of the pedestrian, nobody who has been there can deny. Yet there has been only one fatality near there during the past five years, which should make students assured who are in doubt whether the University or the traffic will get them first.

There are plenty of accidents out there, however, with more people being hurt now that there is a Liability Insurance Law than a few years ago. Last season, six persons claimed injuries--none serious--half of them being on foot and half in automobiles, while so far this year, three pedestrians have been struck, one on September 28, one on November 3, and one on November 5.
