With 70 candidates for the team reporting, Freshman hockey held its first practice of the season yesterday afternoon at the Arena. Three groups were formed, each of which was divided into four teams, which spent the afternoon in scrimmage.

The first cut of the season, which will take place on either Wednesday or Friday, will reduce the team to about 30.

Among the promising players who have been outstanding in their schools are: Robert S. Weeks, George F. Roberts, Edward Cuttel, John Nesmith, John Mechem, Ralph L. Pope, John C. Andrews, Charles Andrews, L. Allis, A. Kevorkian, Russell Allen, D. C. Sleeper, Crawford Hicks, and Eugene Emerson.

According to Clark Hodder '25, Freshman hockey coach, these players form the nucleus for a very promising Freshman team. In the past three years the team has lost only two games. The first game this year will be played against Framingham High School on December 11, between the periods of the Varsity game with M.I.T.

A schedule of the season's games will be announced some time during the coming week.
