Coach Eddie Farrell's short-distance men will run off their trials at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Harvard Stadium, to determine the entrants for the Italian meet on Friday.
The long-distance men, meet of them cross-country runners, will have no trials, with the exception of Robert S. Playfair '36, who runs a mile and a half in the morning. Coaches Farrell of Harvard, Hedlund of M.I.T., and Ryan of B. C. form the committee which is to choose the New England runners to oppose the in vaders.
In Friday's meet, Playfair will face McCluskey and the Italian ace Cerati, who conquered the N.Y.A.C. runner this summer. Other probable entrants include Malcolm Millard '36, in the discus and Richard Johnson '36, in the javelin. Milon G. Green '36, will be entered in the high hurdle and may also try the broad lump, while Edwin E. Calvin '35, is a possible candidate for honors in the 100-meter and the 400-meter relay.
