GRAY LEADS VARSITY QUINTET TO VICTORY OVER TIGERS, 32 TO 31

Although handicapped by the absence of Captain Leavy White, Harvard's fighting basketball quintet edged a faored Princeton five 32-31 for its first Intercollegiate League victory Saturday night.

Three follow up shots on the rebound by Bill Gray, all within the final two minutes of play, accounted for the Crimson victory.

The Tigers led throughout the first half, lengthening their lead early in the second period. The Harvard outfit, led by the aggressive play of Vernon Struck, refused to be beaten, and encouraged by a basket by Struck with two minutes left to play, the Crimson started its last minute drive to victory.

Taken suddenly ill with an attack of grippe an hom before the game, Captain White was rushed to the Stillman man Infirmary, necessitating a shift.

Despite pre-game predictions that the Yearlings would find the going rough against Worcester Academy in the preliminary, the strong Harvard outfit rolled up its fifth straight victory by the comfortable score of 28-18. Doug Macleod was the individual star, tallying 11 points.

In an afternoon game, the Boston Boys Club quintet defeated the Jayvces, 36-29.
