Three base hits by Lupe Lupien, Art Johns, and Bob Gannett got the Freshman nine off to a first start and gained a 7-4 lead in the first two innings as the Yearlings defeated Nichols Junior College 8-4 yesterday on Soldiers Field. Frank Foley, starting Freshman slabman, twisted his knee sliding into second in the fourth and was forced to retire, Lefty Edinburg finishing up the game for him.
