NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Foundation of a new fund for music education, in honor of Archibald T. Davison '06, Professor of Choral Music, Choirmaster and Organist was announced yesterday.

One hundred and forty former members of the Glee Club, together with friends of the Music Department established the new Davison Fund as a permanent foundation open to contributions from club members and others interested in music at the University.

The purpose of the fund is to aid in those projects concerned with music education of undergraduates and symbolizes the scope of Davison's contributions to music at the University.

Davison, a member of the staff since 1910, achieved special distinction as director of the Glee Club from 1912 to 1934. Under his leadership choral singing became one of the most popular undergraduate activities, and the Glee Club gained recognition both as a chorus and an educational experiment.

Davison inaugurated the joint Harvard-Radcliffe choral performances with the Boston Symphony Orchestra.
