With two weeks of regular practice to the credit of pitchers and catchers and varying amounts of informal work for some of the fielders, Varsity and Freshman baseball squads turn out in full numbers in Briggs Cage this afternoon.
In preparation for batting practice Coach Mitchell pared down his hurlers to the number of 13 late last week. Those retained are : Proctor H. Avon '37, Harold M. Curtiss, Jr. '39, Harold N. Edinberg '39, Francis F. Foley '39, Charles G. Houghton, Jr. '39, Edmund F. Ingalls '38, Richard M. Klein '39, William Lee, Jr. '38, John R. Mahoney '37, Donald Prouty '39, Philip N. Rose '38, Royall Victor '37, and Richard MacC, Walsh, Jr. '37.
A cut in the ranks of catchers leaves: Eiliot C. Bacon '39, Robert H. Binkerd '39, Alfred H. Colwell '38, Paul K. Doyle '38, Anthony Galluccio '39, Philip C. Staples, Jr. ocC., and Howard E. Thunberg '39.
All of Coach Mitchell's prospective regulars are ready for work with the exception of the Sophomore basketball trio of R. Richard Grondahi, Frederick W. Heckel, and Ulysses J. Lupien, Jr.
