In what is expected to be one of the hardest meets of the season the Varsity and Freshman Cross Country runners will meet a strong Holy Cross squad at the Cambridge course on Friday afternoon. Both races will start at 3:30.
With good prospects for an undefeated season if they turn in a victory against the Worcester invaders, the Varsity harriers will seek their third victory in as many meets. In their first meet they defeated B. U. by a score of 23-47, and last week in a three cornered meet both Dartmouth and New Hampshire University went down before the Crimson runners.
Captain Roswell Brayton and Penn Tuttle, who led the field together in last week's race, and Dave Simbolt, a new-comer of this season, are the best bets for the Varsity. Other Varsity starters will be: Clark, Nichols, Gardner, Wing, Childs, McLaughlin, and Oldfather.
In the freshman meet the starters will be: Bob Jayu, who was elected captain after last week's meet, Sopka, Dias, Robbins, Young, Fenn, McElligot, Griffith, Bradley, and Knowlton.
The Varsity teams will run over the regular five-mile course while the Yardlings run the two and seven tenths on the Cambridge side of the river. Both races will finish at Nowell Boat House.
