Eliot Five Defeats Adams Quintet in Close Contest

Elephants Win 20-17; Kirkland, Lowell, Leverett Also Victors

It was an inspired Eliot quintet, paced by Max Meyer, that toppled the undefeated Goldcoasters from the seats of the mighty by a 20 to 17 score yesterday afternoon. In other games in the House circuit, Lowell beat Dudley 21 to 19, Kirkland took Winthrop 25 to 17, and the Pioneers defaulted to Leverett.

If the Goldcoasters drop their final encounter with the Ramblers Friday, and Winthrop and Kirkland down the Rabbits and the Bellboys respectively, the three outfits will be in a triple tie for top honors in the second half of league competition. The Adamsites, however, need to tie Friday to earn the right to meet the winning Yale College team on Saturday, March 5.

In the Dudley-Lowell contest, the Ramblers led until the third period, and froze the ball in the closing minutes of the game in the belief that they held a two point lead instead of the Bellboys.
