Dorothy Speare, Film Writer, Will Speak This Afternoon

All Students Interested in Facts of Hollywood Are Welcome

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dorothy Speare, film writer and novelist, will be the guest speaker in English A-4, at Sever 11, this afternoon, Frank W. C. Hersey '99, instructor in English announced yesterday.

The authoress of Grace Moore's opus, "One Night of Love," and other pieces including "Dancers in the Dark" and "The Road to Needles," Miss Speare has spoken here before. Her subject today will be "Discovering Aristotle in Hollywood," a talk which is to be based on her experiences in writing at the California film colony.

She is reported by Mr. Hersey to "tell the real truth about Hollywood" and this will be illustrated by "countless illuminating anecdotes". All students interested are welcome to attend the lecture. It is scheduled for 2 o'clock.

In asking Miss Speare to speak, Mr. Hersey is continuing his policy of inviting prominent figures in the writing and acting professions to speak to his classes. Last year a "prize catch" was Martyn Green, noted performer of Gilbert and Sullivan's operettas for the D' Oyly Carte Company.
