Latest tabulations of Harvard's contribution to the Community Fund show a total of over $53,000 plus the gifts of the Dental and Medical instructors who gave through their professional groups. A little over one-half of the total was given by 2600 officers, employees, and students while the remainder was contributed by about 100 professors through the special gifts committee.

Harvard's record-breaking contribution of 173 percent of its quota raised the total of the School and College group to 135 per cent of its quota. The raised the Institutions division total to 112 per cent of its quota.

That made Institutions the leader of the Industry and Finance section. And that made President Compton of M. I. T., chairman of Institutions, the recipient of the Campaign's first prize, a thirty inch high Orphan Annie doll.
