RAYMOR COP WANTS TO JOIN HARVARD POLICE

Claims That He Knows More University Students Than "Average" Yard Officer; Like Sheridan

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Claiming to know enough Harvard men "to put the average Yard cop to shame," modest "Pop" Garnet, 225 pound, 6 foot ticket-taker and bouncer at the Raymor Ballroom in Boston, last night celebrated his birthday by stating that his life-long ambition is to be on the University police force.

"In all my contacts with Harvard men," he added, "I never found reason to complain about their conduct or use any kind of force. They are the best-behaved people I know, and when there is a question of winning a girl, they always seem to be victorious in the end.

"The only real objection to being a Yard cop," he added, "was that I would not be able to continue my hobby of raising poultry," at which he modestly claims he is an expert.

Deplores Jitterbugs

"I can't see any sense to this jitterbug fad, but I like good swing music even after listening to it steadily for such a long time. Of all the bands I have heard, I would place Bob Chester at the top of the list."

Although definitely against a third term for the President, he hastened to add that if the Republicans do not find somebody more sensational than the present aspirants their chances will be very slim.

Concerning Anne Sheridan, whom Dave likes a lot, he was at a loss for words to explain why certain students had rated her so low in relation to other actresses. "To me," he explained, "these boys have not yet acquired that sense of judgment that comes from maturity."

Although denying rumors that he was 72, but admitting that he was over 21, the genial officer was proud to say that he was still young enough to act as a Red Cross Senior life-saver at the Medford lake during the summer.
