Crimson Jayvees Run Wild Over Blue, 19-0

Cowen Tallies in First Quarter; Hal Tine And MacClelland Also Score in Cantab Win

By A.edward Rowse

Harvard's hard driving Jayvee outfit took the Elis into camp yesterday to the tune of 19 to 0 as they completely bottled up the Blue passing attack until late in the last period.

Tom Cowen, Crimson fullback, broke the scoring ice when he bucked over the goal from the two-yard line in the first period to ring up a 6 to 0 lead. Tackle Bob Fisher missed the try for the extra point.

Although the half ended with the score still 6 to 0, Hal Tine, substitute for Cowen, put the Crimson on the road to its third victory of the season when he plunged over the Eli goal-line from the two-yard stripe to make the score 12 to 0. Fisher split the uprights to add the extra point.

MacClelland Registers

George MacClelland tallied the final marker in the last few minutes of the game, galloping 20 yards through the whole Yale team to make the final score read 19 to 0. Fisher's kick was blocked.

Outstanding for the Crimson was Bart Harvey and Steve Gifford in the backfield, while Yale's standouts were Brooks Smith and Monk Meyer in backing up the line. Floyd Fay, Blue passing ace, connected for several long passes in the dying minutes of the contest, but they were all to no avail.
