Congressman Eliot Appoints Freshman to Naval Academy

Although he has only been here three months. Freshman Richard Grenier's Harvard career has almost terminated with his appointment to the United States Naval Academy by Representative Thomas H. Eliot '28.

Grenier, a member of the Freshman swimming team, prepared at Brookline High before coming to the College this fall. Although he took the competitive examinations for Annapolis last month he was undecided as to his field of concentration and was not taking Naval or Military Sciences.

He intends to stay in the University until the moment he enters the Academy. Ordinarily that would mean he could finish his Freshman year, but under war time conditions Annapolis has accelerated its schedules and new classes are admitted before July. As a result Grenier will probably enter his new alma mater in February.
