Harry Newman, Jr. '42 was elected president of Phillips Brooks House for 1941-42, Raymond Dennett '36, Graduate Secretary announced last night. William Munson '42 is the new vice-president.

The new executive officers will take over their duties from E. Langdon Burwell '41, and Lincoln Bloomfield '41, retiring president and vice-president at the first meeting of the cabinet, sometime early in March. During the next week the new officers will appoint eight undergraduate members to the cabinet.

A nominating committee made up of the Graduate Secretary and all the Senior members of the cabinet proposed the men for election. Gerald Eisner '42 and Robert H. Orchard '42 were also nominated.

Balloting for Brooks House elections is conducted by mail. One hundred and ninety-one post card ballots, out of the 270 which were mailed to active members of the organization last Thursday, had returned to Phillips Brooks House by last night, and gave Newman a large margin. Munson had a very close race with Orchard and Eisner.

Newman comes from Beverly Hills, California, and resides at Adams House. He has worked with Brooks House for three years, and among other positions, has served as chairman of the Freshman Committee, assistant chairman of the Handbook committee, and chairman of the Social Service Committee. Newman was a member of his Smoker Committee and Business Manager of the Red book. He is Chairman of the Adams House Year Book and a member of the Signet Society.

Munson lives in Granville, New York, and Lowell House. He has also worked with Brooks House for three years.
