Varsity Nine Plays Informal Game Today; Meets Terriers on Soldiers Field at 4

'45 Faces St. Marks; Aims for First Win

B. U.'s baseball team will play an informal practice game with the Crimson Varsity at 4 o'clock this afternoon on Soldiers Field. This contest will temporarily replace the official meeting with the Terriers which a snowstorm washed out last Saturday.

At the same time, the Freshman nine travels to Southboro to tackle St. Mark's and revenge its 9 to 5 licking by Wentworth Institute on Monday.

No record or score will be kept of the Varsity battle. There has not even been a ceiling placed on the number of innings to be played. Chief purpose of the meeting is to give the less-experienced players of both teams a chance to prove their worth. Coach Floyd Stahl has, therefore, delegated the Crimson mound assignment to three novice hurlers. Sophomore Joe Phelan will start and be relieved successively by Junior Jack Farley and Sophomore Warren Berg.

Terriers Beaten Yesterday

Although B. U. went down to a 9 to 1 defeat at the hands of Rhode Island State yesterday afternoon, they are expected to present the Varsity with more than adequate practice training. No definite date has as yet been named for the postponed contest of last Saturday but present plans indicate it will be scheduled some time about Wednesday, April 29.
