Wyzanski Will Lecture On Constitutional Law

Judge to Retain Bench Seat While Lecturing in Gov 19

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Judge Charles E. Wyzanski '27 has been named as the lecturer in Government 19, American Constitutional Law, for the second semester. A graduate of Harvard Law School, he has been a District Judge since December 1941 and will retain that post.

This is not the first time an active judge has lectured at Harvard. Over a century ago, Justice Story of the United States Supreme Court gave a series of lectures on constitutional law without giving up his seat on the bench. Judge Calvert Magruder of the Law School has been another to combine teaching with work on the Circuit Court of Appeals.

NLRS Attorney

As a basis for this material, he will draw upon his experience as a practicing attorney and in the public service. After a term as solicitor to the Department of Labor and delegate to the International Labor Conference in Geneva, he became a Special Assistant to the Attorney General of the United States, arguing among others, the National Labor Relations Board and Social Security cases.
