Joining with collegiate radio stations in 13 Eastern colleges, the Crimson Network, WHCN, will broadcast the first intercollegiate wired program in its history from 8 to 9 o'clock Thursday evening.
The broadcast will originate from the MacMillan Theater on the campus of Columbia University, and will be built around the theme of students united for peace. Representatives of Columbia College, the Julliard School of Music, and International House will participate.
This broadcast, marking the fifth year of the existence of the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System, is the only network show planned for the spring. These broadcasts are only heard on campuses where stations are located, as all programs are transmitted buy wire radio, and not be radiation as used by the major networks.
