House, Yard Groups Join Tonight in New College-Wide Dance Committee

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In a move to form a coordinating mechanism for Colleges social affairs incorporating the Inter-House and Union Dance Committees, representatives of the two groups will come together tonight to draw up a constitution for an "All-College Dance Committee."

The merger, long discussed as the only means of stopping House and Union Competition, should be enacted with little difficulty, Robert A. Cunningham '46, House dance chairman, stated last night. "Plans have already been agreed upon, and approval should be just a formality," he declared.

Under the proposed system, the new committee will direct all College dances, both at the Union and at the Houses. Certain limitations concerning dates and advertising will be imposed in order to prevent any rivalry between the Union and the Houses.

Groundwork Laid

The new group will consist of the dance chairman of the seven Houses, Dudley, and the Union.

Major details of the merger have already been discussed and tonight's meeting will decide the final organization details of the new body. After ratification by the two present committees and approval by the Student Council, the new constitution will go into effect.
