Lacrosse Team Will Climax Season in Yale Game Today

Blue books will temporarily be laid aside and attention focussed on blue jerseys this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock when both Varsity and Freshman lacrosse teams take on their Yale counterparts on the Business School field.

The Varsity, currently sporting a five-game winning streak, will enter the climactic contest of the season on approximately even terms with the delegation from New Haven. Both teams have suffered their sole league loss at the hands of the champion Dartmouth squad and are now deadlocked in the second spot in the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse League race with two wins apiece.

Since their early season loss to Dartmouth Bob Maddux's Crimson Tutees have developed steadily, defeating Tufts, M.I.T., Williams, New Hampshire, and the Boston Lacrosse Club on successive Saturdays. The Eli defeat at the hands of the Indians came last Saturday after a hard fought 15 to 4 game and served to end their own string of victories at five.

Yale Due Poses Threat

The main reason for the Blue successes this year is embodied in their attack duo of Swede Larsen and Winnie Lovejoy. This combine has been unstoppable so far this year and is expected to be the main threat to Harvard's chances for undisputed possession of the runner-up position in the league standings.

Seven Crimson stalwarts will be playing their last lacrosse game for Harvard. Five of these, Eddie Davis, Ned Dewey, John Rogers, Jeff Smith, and Captain Jay Hurley, will be in the starting lineup. The other two Seniors on the team, Bob Zimmerman and Chet Pierce, will undoubtedly see plenty of action. Davis, Dewey, and Pierce all won Varsity letters while serving on Dick Harlow's forward wall last fall.

Starting time will find Bob Forsythe and Jim Graham alongside Davis on the defense. Hans Estin with Dewey and Smith will make up the midfield trio and Dick Bezanson will aid Hurley and Rogers on the attack. Bill "Algie" Allen will be in his familiar spot in the nets.
