Council to Study Minority Groups

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Status of minority groups on the College scene will undergo close scrutiny by a new Student Council Committee on Minority Problems meeting for the first time today.

Under the leadership of Ernest M. Howell '47, the group will also study past and present fair educational practices bills introduced throughout New England.

Committee Last Year

A Council sub-committee to study academic discrimination in the College was set up last spring following the controversy over Club 100's "no Negroes" admittance policy. In October this body, was replaced by the present full-stand Committee, which so far has been inactive.

It is expected that the committee membership will also include come non-Council students acquainted with minorities-problems.
