Fencers Parry Lions In Blockhouse today

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Varsity fencers cross swords with Columbia this afternoon at 2:30 o'clock in the Indoor Athletic Building in their next to last match of the season.

With the absence of Captain John Gay, called home by a death in his family, the swordsmen will find the Lions a tougher opponent than anticipated. Next to Norm Ellis, top saberman, Gay has been the most consistent winner in the squad's strongest division and weakness in that department may prove disastrous.

In five matches this year, the fencers have drubbed Brown, Princeton, Army, and M.I.T. and lost only to Cornell.

It was the saber department that accounted for the squad's 15 to 12 victory over the Techmen Wednesday night.
