The Harvard-Radcliffe Orchestra opens its spring competition at 7 p.m. this evening is Sanders Thoater, Robert K. Nosbet '51, vice-president of the group, announced last night. There is a particularly urgent need for violinists, but all instrumentalists are invited to try out, he added.
Orchestra plans for this spring include reading of various popular symphonic works, Nesbet stated. Tentative plans have been made for recordings and broadcasts over WHRV as a result of last night's successful broadcast of the Orchestra's Harvard Club concert.
