'54 Hockey Team Tops Nobles, 7-1

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Sparked by Dick Clasby's two goals, the freshman hockey team overwhelmed Noble and Greenough, 7 to 1, in the Arena yesterday.

Playmaker Jeb Bray carried the puck over the blue line and slipped a low shot under Marty Mullin, Nobles goaltender, for the first Crimson goal at 3:43. Five minutes later Jim Colt converted a Clasby pass to score. At the end of the period, Captain Norm Wood centered to Fred Horween who slapped in a hard shot.

Johnny Arnold drove in a pass from Jeff Coolidge with 2:52 gone in the second period. Neil Childs scored the lone Nobles tally during a scramble in front of the cage.

Clasby stickhandled from his own goal to score unassisted at 6:11 of the third period, and ten minutes later he tipped in a shot from Colt. Dean Howells finished the scoring when he tallied on an Arnold pass.

The Yardlings play B.U. in the Lynn Sports Center at 7 p.m. tonight.
