The Crimson hockey team will compete in a two-day Christmas holiday tournament with Boston College, Northeastern, and Boston University at the Boston Arena, in addition to its regular 15-game schedule, Thomas D. Bolles, University Athletic Director, announced yesterday.

The move is an attempt to get greater hockey interest in this area explained Coach Cooney Weiland. It is the first time the teams have not been scheduled to play away at this time.

The sextet, captained by Walt Greeley, moves into the first phase of pre-season practice with a two-week training stretch beginning November 12. The team gets together for the first time then for daily workouts in the I.A.B. gym prior to their first Boston Arena practice.

BU First Game

This season, third under coach Weiland, will open December 13 in a game with Boston University, and includes the eight-game Pentagonal League schedule.

Last year the sextet lost to Yale in the season's last game, for its first loss since 1947. Greeley, the team's play-maker led them with 14 assists for the year, coming in second for scoring with 12 goals.

The schedule: December 13, Boston University; 17, Tufts; 26 and 27, Boston College, Northeastern, and Boston University at Boston Arena. January 3, Boston University; 7, M.I.T.; 10, at Dartmouth; 21, Northeastern. February 7, at Brown; 11, Boston College; 13, Northeastern; 18, Dartmouth; 21, at Princeton; 24, Brown at North Shore Sports Arena; 28, Yale. March 4, Princeton; 7, at Yale.
