Walter Franklin Greeley '53, of Framingham and Winthrop House, was elected captain of the varsity hockey team for 1952-53 yesterday at a meeting of the lettermen.
Greeley, first-line center, was second high-scorer with 26 points this season on 12 goals and 14 assists. A left-hand shot, he centered the third line on the varsity last year, and the first freshman line. His wing mate for three years. Amory Hubbard, scored 28 points to lead the team.
Greeley was chosen with Dick Clasby, his other wing, to play on the college all-stars against the U.S. Olympic team in January and last year he won the Angler Trophy for the most improved varsity hockey player.
Besides starring in hockey, Greeley also plays both baseball and House football. He won his letter last spring as a short-stop on the varsity baseball team, and quarterbacked and captained the second-place Winthrop eleven this fall.
