William B. Drexler '55, president of the Boston Cinema Society, announced yesterday that Charlie Chaplin's Academy Award winning movie "The Circus" will be shown today and tomorrow at the Fine Arts Theater in place of "Birth of a Nation."
Approval for "The Circus" was obtained from City Censor Walter Milliken after "Birth of a Nation" was cancelled because protesting local groups called it anti-Negro.
Featured with "The Circus" will be "Boundary Lines," a short film that won an anti-prejudice prize for its portrayal against racial discrimination.
