The freshman track team scored 58 out of a possible 63 points in the running events Saturday and went on to swamp Exeter, 90 1/2 to 35 1/2. The victory was the freshmen's third straight.
Bob Rittenberg and John McFarland led the scoring with double wins, but Paul Grand turned in the best performance of the day with an exciting win over Alan Howe in the 440. Grand was timed-in 51.5 to hand the freshman captain his first defeat of the year.
McFarland scored his wins in the sprints, while Rittenberg won the broad jump and high hurdles. Lee Hurd was second in the high hurdles and won the lows in 27,1.
