Golf Team Loses to Virginia And Duke in Southern Tour

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Crimson golfers finished on the short and in two Southern matches played over vacation, but profited from the ideal practice conditions, according to Coach Frank Richart.

The University of Virginia, first team played, trounced the visitors 6 to 1. Only Crimson winner was John Sears, playing fourth man.

After two days practice at Pinehurst (N.C.), the seven traveling golfers met a powerful Duke University squad and were beaten, 26 1/2 to 1/2, in both single and pair matches. Best score of the tour was turned in at Duke by Captain Paul Weissman, whose 77 earned him a tie and the team's one-half point.
