All seven of the Crimson track men who flew down to the Annual Southern Relays held last Friday and Saturday at Birmingham placed in their respective events.
Bob Mello was the only individual winner, tying for second place in the pole vault. Bill Wolburn of Ohio State won the event, clearing 13 feet, 6 inshes.
Sprint relay men Ronnie Berman, Pete Dow, Ed Grutzner and Bob Twitchell were second to Ohio State's winning time of 3:34.3. The mile relay squad of Berman and Grutzner coupled with Phil Meyers and John Packard was third to Michigan and Ohio State, respectively.
Yale's broad jumper Ted Lewis broke a meet record with a leap of 23 feet, 11 3/4 inches, while the Elis' two mile relay squad won its event for the second successive year.
