Dartmouth freshman Joe McCarthey burned up the Dedham Country Club golf course in a two-under-par 68 strokes, the best score shot by anyone this year, to lead his mates to a 4 to 2 victory over the Crimson on Saturday. The Dartmouth varsity topped Coach Frank Richart's varsity, 4 to 3.
Harvard winners in the varsity meet were Captain Paul Weissman, Dusty Burke, and George Wheeling. Losers were Bill Timpson, Dave Hedberg, Mitch Rosenholtz and Jack Brophy. Weissman and Burke had 73 and 72, respectively.
The only freshman winners for the Crimson were John Walsh and John Parsons.
