Cedar Hill Wants Radcliffe Council To Open Meetings

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Meetings of Radcliffe's Student Council will all be open to the public, by a constitutional bylaw, except in cases of the honor system, according to a recommendation of the Cedar Hill Conference last night.

If the new rule is adopted by Council, notice will have to be given in advance if a meeting is to be closed, and two-thirds vote of the Council will be necessary.

Recommendations of Cedar Hill, a conference of leaders of Annex activities, are made to the Deans or to Council.

Gilmore Leads Protest

The discussion of revising current policy on open and closed meetings was brought up at last night's Cedar Hill meeting, continued from the past Monday, by Adele Gilmore '53, Senior Class President. "A dangerous tendency' of the Council to withhold public information on some issues this year had to be combatted, she stated.

Cedar Hill delegates also recommended that Radcliffe's Health Center establish visiting hours of one hour daily, and that the lunchroom at Agassiz be run more efficiently.

The fiscal position of the Radcliffe Yearbook was presented by Jean Ross '54, Business Manager, and Cedar Hill granted the contract for next year's Freshman Register to the Yearbook.
