Golf Team Loses, 5-2, But Ties Army, 3 1/2-3 1/2

Although Bill McAllister won both his matches, the varsity golf team could only tie Army, 3 1/2 to 3 1/2 at West Point Saturday, before dropping three close matches to lose to Princeton, 5 to 2, at Princeton yesterday.

Rain, wind, and cold so hampered play at West Point that the final match had to be stopped because of darkness and cold. In the other matches, McAllister won, as did Ted Cooney and Jack Brophy. Pete Malkin halved.

McAllister and Jim Jones were the only winners at Princeton, where four matches were decided on the eighteenth or nineteenth holes.

Jones won his match on the nineteenth, but Princeton won two matches on the eighteenth and one on the nineteenth to take the contest.

Boston University faces the golf team tomorrow at the Dedham Country Club.
