More than $3200 has been informally raised to meet the legal expenses of Leon J. Kamin '49, whose trial for contempt of congress will begin Oct. 11.
Richard L. Solomon, associate professor of Social Psychology, who has led the money-raising efforts, announced the figure yesterday and said the informal campaign would continue. He estimated the sum to be more than half of Kamin's foreseeable legal costs. Barring and appeal to the Supreme Court, Solomon said Kamin will probably need between $5000 and $6000.
