Two members of the Varsity Debate Council will oppose a two-man team from Cambridge, England, in a debate at the Harvard Club of Boston, Oct. 24.
George M. Fredrickson '56 and Cliff F. Thompson '56 will argue the negative side of the question, Resolved: "That Modern Society Enjoys the Greatest Benefit under a Planned Economy."
Cambridge and Oxford alternate in an annual three-month tour of the United States. There was no decision in last year's Oxford-Harvard debate, since the two British debators argued on different sides of the topic, Resolved: "That Progress Depends on the Unreasonable Man."
