The combined Charities Drive ill deserves the poor treatment it has received from students this week. In a year which had every reason for going over the top in contributions students are giving much less then previously.
The unfortunate showing is surprising since the charities have been picked with unusual care and the drives committee has very efficiently minimized its operating expenses. When solicitors visit rooms for the last time this evening, students should be more generous with their funds.
