Crimson Skiers Retain 'A' Division Standing, Eighth Place After First Day at Middlebury

The Crimson ski team held its place in the "A" division of the Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association by a slim margin at Middlebury yesterday.

The varsity finished ninth in yesterday morning's downhill run and eighth in the afternoon cross-country for a total of 157 points. They rank eighth, just one point ahead of Syracuse, the western "B" division champions, and seven points behind seventh place Williams. The first eight teams in the Middlebury Carnival will comprise next year's "A" division in the Association.

The snow was hard and bumpy yesterday, causing three out of four Crimson skiers to fall in the downhill run. Possible snow before today's slalom and jump may slow the surface.

After yesterday's events, Dartmouth led in the meet, followed by Middlebury, New Hampshire, Vermont, Norwich, Saint Lawrence, Williams, Harvard, Syracuse, and M.I.T., in that order.
