Keeping a 20-game over-all winning streak which has lasted since November, Stoughton walked away with the American League title in Freshman intramural basketball on March 14. Stoughton then went on to edge out Hurlbut, the National League champion, by a score of 43 to 38 in the playoff game.
Stoughton, with a 9-0 record, was followed by Grays 1 (8-1), Greenough (6-3), Matthews South (6-3), and Mower (4-5) in the American League. Leading the National League with a 10-0 record, Hurlbut was trailed by Straus South (8-2), Lionel (6-4), Weld North (6-4), and Thayer South (5-5).
Competition in American League volleyball resulted in a tie, with Lionel and Straus North each compiling a record of 8-1. Behind them were Thayer Middle (7-2). Thayer South (6-3), and Wiggles-worth (6-3). National League honors were won by Stoughton (9-0), followed by Grays (8-1), Matthews North (6-3), and Hurlbut (6-3).
Matthews South triumphed in intramural boxing with a score of 13. Holworthy and Stoughton trailed well behind.
