The University's new Center for Behavioral Sciences will be named after Adam James, an American pioneer in the scientific study of man.
The 14-story William James Hall will house the offices, laboratories, and classrooms of psychologists, sociologists, anthropologists, and others studying man and society.
The new Center was designed by Min Yamaski of Detroit and will be built on Kirkland Street at the corner of Divinity Ave. The site is just a block a half from Lawrence Hall, where James installed one of America's first biological laboratories.
