JV in Lacrosse May Be Formed For First Time

If most of the present number of lacrosse candidates stay out for the team, Harvard will have a junior varsity lacrosse squad this spring.

"We've never had one before, but then again, we've never really needed one before," varsity coach Bruce Munro said yesterday. He explained that if the number of varsity players is as high after the annual Southern trip which the team will take during vacation as it is now, then a JV team will be formed.

With no house lacrosse at Harvard, many former high school players have had to give up the sport, feeling that they were just not good enough to play on a varsity level. A JV team could be the perfect answer for these men and also for beginners, for whom it would provide important game experience.
