The University Planning Office yesterday released plans for the new freshman dormitory under construction behind Memorial Church.
The Corporation approved the plans several weeks ago, although construction began during the summer, John B. Hawes '65, project planner for the Planning Office, said yesterday.
The plans show that the $2.8 million red brick dormitory, designed to house 207 students, six proctors and one senior adviser, will consist of seven entries located in three rectangular structures with connecting basements.
Two of the units will have four floors, and one will have five. Top-floor living room skylights and a slanted roof are included in the design.
The building will include a student kitchen and dining room, a common room and study area, and laundry and storage areas. Two triple suites and one single will have facilities for students confined to wheelchairs.
