Budget Letter

In Progress

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Dean Rosovsky is making final preparations for the release of his annual letter to the Faculty on its budget.

The letter, which will probably be about 30 pages long, is a major event in the Rosovsky administration. When Rosovsky's predecessor, John T. Dunlop, was dean of the Faculty there was no budget letter, only an oral presentation at a Faculty meeting, and last year's letter was one of the real crowd-pleasing moves during Rosovsky's first year as dean.

This year's letter is circulating through the corridors of power in draft form, and is divided into three parts: a discussion of last year's $1.4 million deficit, a section of this year's projected $2.5 million deficit, and an assessment of the prospects for next year.
