If Harvard (7-2, 4-2 in the Ivy League) wins, then it ties Yale for the championship. A Dartmouth (4-2) victory over Princeton (3-3) and a Cornell (4-2) victory over Penn (1-5) combined with a Harvard victory would mean a four-way tie for the title. If Yale (7-2, 5-1 Ivy) wins or ties, it wins the championship outright.

Yale has won or shared the championship for three of the last four years. Harvard last won it in 1975.

Yale leads the series, which began in 1875, 52-36-8. Each school won five games in the '70s. In the past 30 years, the games have divided 14-14-2

Harvard won last year, 22-7. Yale won in 1978, 35-28.

Harvard coach Joe Restic, in his tenth season, is 4-5 against Yale, Eli coach Carm Cozza, in his 16th season, is 7-7-1 against the Crimson.

Attendance: a sold-out 40,000.
