Bucks Prevail; Celtics Face 2-0 Deficit

By From WIRE Services

The Milwaukee Bucks rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to pull out a 95-91 victory over the Boston Celtics last night at the Boston Garden. The Bucks now hold a commanding 2-0 lead over the Celtics in the NBA's Eastern Conference semifinal playoff.

Only four teams in NBA history have come back from a 2-0 deficit to win a playoff series

Absent

The Celtics, playing without Larry Bird who remained at home with a virus, shot 66.7 percent from the floor in the first half to take a 57-42 lead. But the Milwaukee defense responded to the challenge, holding Boston to 44 points in the second half and just four field goals in the final 12 minutes.

Scoring

Danny Ainge and Scott Wedman picked up the scoring slack in Bird's absence. Ainge hit a career-high 25 points, and Wedman had 18.
