I recently bought Angelique Kidjo’s latest CD, Oyaya. For the first few weeks, I couldn’t stop listening to it! Angelique is a West African singer from Benin. I’ve enjoyed her music for a while now, but her last CD is especially awesome because it fuses incredible African and Latin rhythms that make it impossible not to get up and dance! You’ll find yourself getting jiggy to your head phones on the way to class. To satisfy my classical craving, I’ve also rediscovered “Ein Heldenleben” by Strauss. The German title means “A Hero’s Life” in English. I love it because it’s so bold and playful at the same time, and every instrument has a good part.
