You’ve seen the posters staring down at you from nearly every signpost on campus. You’ve noticed the Facebook ads prominently displayed next to your ex-girlfriend’s latest photo album. The Alpha Delta Phi Literary Society—whatever that is—is apparently coming back to Harvard after a 100-year hiatus.

Though the poster lists only a phone number and an e-mail address for prospective members to declare their interest, FM did some sleuthing to find out some more information.

According to “Mo,” the person whose phone number is listed on the flyer, the “literary society” part doesn’t mean anything—Alpha Delta Phi is just a regular fraternity. The nearby Brandeis chapter is responsible for the colonization effort.

Alpha Delt, as it likes to call itself, already has a handful of members at Harvard among the junior and senior class, and now it’s looking for some sophomores to take up the mantle. It’s a little less personal than some other invitations going around this time of year, so most people may find it a little too sketchy to call the number.

Luckily, FM is going to do it for you! I will go undercover to Alpha Delt’s rush events and report back so you don’t have to go. Who knows, you might find out that you actually want to join—FDR was in it, and it can’t be much worse than Sigma Chi.
