The 1993-94 Harvard men's ice hockey team celebrates its 1994 ECAC Championship win against Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Lake Placid, N.Y. The Crimson won 3-0, giving it an automatic bid to the NCAA DI Tournament, where Harvard made it to the Frozen Four before losing to Lake Superior State. the victors of the tournament.

No. 7 Harvard’s Season Ends in 8-1 Blowout Loss to No. 8 Ohio State

After a narrow loss to Minnesota State in the first round of the 2022 NCAA Tournament, the No. 7 Harvard men’s ice hockey team seemed to be on the upswing, with the majority of the NCAA’s then-youngest team returning for another shot at a national title run. After blazing through the regular season with a stellar 24-8-2 record, the Crimson entered the 2023 NCAA Tournament with legitimate hopes of reaching the Frozen Four.

No. 6 Harvard Falls One Win Short of Whitelaw Cup Repeat

On Sunday, while many students returned to campus following spring break, the No. 6 Harvard men’s hockey team sat in their loss from the night before for almost six hours on a grueling bus ride back from Lake Placid, N.Y. The night before, the team fought to defend its Whitelaw Cup title as ECAC champions approximately 300 miles away from campus, ultimately falling short in a narrow 3-2 loss to the Colgate Raiders.


No. 7 Harvard Surges Into Postseason with Final Weekend Sweep

At this time last year, a young, inexperienced Harvard men’s ice hockey team prepared for its first ECAC tournament since 2019. The Crimson surpassed expectations, winning the Whitelaw Cup and securing an unexpected NCAA tournament berth. Now, a year later, No. 7 Harvard has seen monumental growth, spending the majority of the season in the top 10 and setting a lofty end-of-season goal: a national championship.
