Harvard Men’s Volleyball Breaks Losing Streak with 3-0 Win Over Merrimack

With a crowd of just 105 people on a Wednesday night, Harvard men’s volleyball played through one of their smallest home game attendances so far this season – but certainly not the least exciting. The team came into their match against Merrimack under the weight of a two-game losing streak and emerged victorious – in more ways than one.


Harvard’s Playoff Bid Cut Short by New Jersey Institute of Technology

The Harvard men’s volleyball team fell to New Jersey Institute of Technology on Thursday at University Park, P.A., in the semifinals of the 2022 Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association tournament. The match was the Crimson’s first trip to the playoffs since it won the tournament in 2018.

Harvard Men’s Volleyball Claims Ivy League Championship After Back-to-Back Victories Against Princeton

The last point of the Harvard men’s volleyball team’s Ivy League matchup with Princeton on Saturday was also its longest, with Princeton hitters sending the Crimson scrambling past the press box and to the back wall of the Malkin Athletic Center to keep the ball in play. At the end of the 40-second rally, however, Harvard emerged victorious, sealing a decisively successful double-header weekend against the Tigers and its fourth-straight win.


Men’s Volleyball Ends Preseason with Loss to Purdue Fort Wayne

The Harvard men’s volleyball team (2-4) fell to Purdue Fort Wayne (6-4) on Saturday, abruptly ending the team’s two-game win streak at the Malkin Athletic Center. Shouts and cheers from fans and players alike reverberated through the vaulted ceilings of the MAC’s top floor in the first match of the spring semester but ultimately resulted in a Harvard loss.

Born less than a day apart in the same hospital in Hawaii, Harvard freshmen Buddy Scott and Hong have always been side by side. From preschool and kindergarten through their senior year of high school, the two always had one another. Now, they play together on the Harvard men's volleyball team

It Runs in the Family: Matthew Ctvrtlik's Journey to the Ivy League

For Matthew Ctvrtlik, a current junior and co-captain of the Harvard Men’s Volleyball team, volleyball had always been a part of his life. From a young age, his family had played volleyball and other sports together. So, when he made the transition to playing team volleyball in seventh grade, he found that the game came naturally to him.

Men's Volleyball Drops Two MIVA Weekend Matches

The Harvard men’s volleyball team hosted two competitive MIVA teams this past weekend at the Malkin Athletic Center, but will need to wait another weekend to earn its second win of the year.

Setter Marko Kostich was one of four seniors on the EIVA-winning team. Following the conclusion of the season, Kostich was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District Men's At-Large First Team.

UCLA Eliminates Men's Volleyball from NCAA Tournament

In its inaugural trip to the NCAA Tournament, the Crimson squared off with 19-time champion UCLA on the Bruins' home turf. Under the lights of the Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles, Calif., Harvard went up one game before dropping three consecutively.

Men's Volleyball Claims EIVA Championship, NCAA Tournament Berth

In a 3-1 decision over Princeton at George Mason’s Recreation Athletic Complex, Harvard clinched its first ever EIVA Championship title and punched its subsequent first ever ticket to the NCAA Tournament.
